The Ministry of Science and Technology's Torch Center for High-Tech Industry Development recently released the results of the 2010 National Torch Program selection for Key High-Tech Enterprises, and Hunan KBC Composite Materials Technology Co., Ltd. was selected.
The Torch Program is a guiding initiative aimed at developing China's high-tech industries, approved in August 1988. Organized and implemented regularly by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the program is driven by both domestic and international market demands. It leverages national, regional, and industry-specific scientific and technological breakthrough initiatives, cutting-edge research and development achievements, as well as other notable scientific findings. With the ultimate goal of fostering high-tech products and building thriving industrial sectors, the program carefully selects a group of key high-tech enterprises (or enterprise groups) for prioritized support. Both the central government and local authorities collaborate to provide comprehensive assistance—ranging from market access and information sharing to financial backing, management expertise, and specialized services—thereby boosting the growth of China’s flagship industrial projects and bolstering regional economic development across the country.
It is understood that several companies from Hunan have made the shortlist, including Sany Heavy Industry and Shanhe Intelligent, among others.
