Zhongnan University Boyun Industrial Park Enters Yiyang Eastern New Area

Huang Boyun appointed as the city government's science and technology advisor and chief scientist of the High-Tech Zone; Ma Yong delivers a speech, and Hu Zhongxiong presents the appointment letter.


  On December 15, the appointment ceremony for Yiyang Municipal Government's Science and Technology Advisor and Yiyang High-tech Zone's Chief Scientist, along with the signing ceremony for the BoYun Industrial Park project of Central South University, was held at Jianianna International Hotel.
  Huang Boyun, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Vice Chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology, and Chairman of the Hunan Provincial Association for Science and Technology, has been appointed as the city government's science and technology advisor and the chief scientist of the High-Tech Zone. Ma Yong, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, delivered a speech, while Hu Zhongxiong, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, presented the appointment letter. The ceremony was chaired by Cong Peimo, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee. Also in attendance were Zhou Kechao, Vice President of Central South University, along with municipal leaders Zhou Zaihua, Hu Lian, and Chen Benjia, and Municipal Government Secretary-General Hu Jie, among others.
  The Boyun Industrial Park of Central South University, invested and developed by Central South University Powder Metallurgy Engineering Research Center Co., Ltd., has been established in the Eastern New Area. The project features a total fixed-asset investment of 2.8 billion yuan and is planned to occupy approximately 1,500 mu of land. Leveraging the scientific research and industrial strengths of Central South University's State Key Laboratory of Powder Metallurgy and the National Engineering Research Center for Powder Metallurgy, the Boyun Industrial Park will introduce advanced equipment from abroad, ultimately becoming the largest-scale, most technologically advanced, and strongest R&D-focused production and research base for powder metallurgy materials in China.
  Huang Boyun is from Nanxian County, Yiyang, and has long been engaged in the research and development of advanced composite materials, powder metallurgy materials, and other cutting-edge new materials. He has successfully completed numerous significant national research projects. The "Preparation Technology for High-Performance Carbon/Carbon Aeronautical Brake Materials," which he led, won the First Prize of the 2004 National Invention Award in Technology. Additionally, his leadership in projects such as "Development of High-Performance Powder Metallurgy Aircraft Brake Materials" has achieved internationally leading advancements and is widely applied in the aerospace industry. Previously, the Hunan KBC Composite Materials Technology Co., Ltd., founded under his guidance, was already established in Yiyang. The company now holds more than 50 patents, including invention patents, utility model patents, and international patents, making it a pioneering enterprise in our city's new energy and advanced materials sector.
  Huang Boyun expressed full confidence in transforming scientific and technological achievements in Yiyang. He noted that the Yiyang Municipal Party Committee and Government place great emphasis on high-tech development, and the city is brimming with vitality and dynamism, boasting a favorable ecological environment as well as an ideal setting for fostering high-tech innovation—making it a superb platform for attracting investment. The establishment of Central South University Boyun Industrial Park in the eastern new area of Yiyang High-Tech Zone fills him with a profound sense of responsibility. As a major national-level high-tech zone, this expansive platform will undoubtedly create fertile ground for nurturing cutting-edge technologies and groundbreaking projects, opening up vast opportunities for growth. He pledged to accelerate the construction of the Boyun Industrial Park project, ensuring that promising initiatives are seamlessly integrated into the high-tech zone to drive Yiyang’s robust development forward.
  Ma Yong extended warm congratulations on Huang Boyun's appointment and the signing of their cooperation agreement, expressing gratitude for Huang Boyun's deep affection and commitment to giving back to his hometown. Ma Yong noted that the establishment of Central South University Powder Metallurgy Engineering Research Center Co., Ltd. will play a crucial role in fostering the vigorous development of Yiyang's new energy and new materials industries. He added that Academician Huang Boyun's joining the project will undoubtedly propel the city's new industrialization efforts to a whole new level.
